| The Future is Past |
| In the distant future my people will fight in a war against the Unforeseen and we will lose. We will die. Most of us will perish and we will would have lost everything that we had created over the centuries. Us, the Moirai, some of the human children of Earth who left that declining planet to explore and colonize the stars. Amongst ourselves we call home the Sage Planet, inhabited by a sentient force within the planet that we call Ambrosium. Over a millennium it changed us, became part of our very DNA. It made us nearly immortal. It gave some of us great strength and others, psychic gifts. It gave us a great responsibility. And when the Unforeseen found out that the planet changed us, it wanted it for itself. Most of us died protecting it but not before three people from the original families--Clotho, Lachesis, Atropos traveled through time to when the children of Earth were quite young. They planted the seeds in Earth's history that would allow us to have what we needed to fight the Unforeseen millions of years in the future. They did what they had to so that we could survive. It was like pressing the rewind button but it changed things. It changed us. Centuries passed like the flipping pages of a book and now as the war with the Unforeseen draws closer, it is my task to find the "wrinkle in time" that apparently created a fold which concealed a part of human history that the enemy was hiding in and changed our own, making us blind to the attack. If I fail, than the Moirai will fall...again. |
